theeeeengs!

Oh man. Someone on my roleplaying site is playing Rosemary from Metal Gear Solid, and it's like everything she (Rose) says makes me want to just punch her in the gut. I HATE YOU FOREVER, ROSE. RAIDEN DOESN'T LIKE YOU BECAUSE YOU MESSED WITH HIS HEAD REALLY BADLY. ALSO, WHILE HE IS TRYING TO AVOID BEING KILLED IS THE WRONG TIME TO TALK ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP. GEEZE, LADY! D<

I've always hated Rose so the player is clearly doing a good job!

Uhh, I totally had more to write about.

Oh! Question, guys- say you work somewhere where you have a lot of free time. Your boss has told you that it is okay to read, do schoolwork, whatever. Sudoku and celebrity magazines are also approved. Is it permissible to bring a hand-held gaming system? It's logically no different from reading or from Sudoku... but you know. It wouldn't really feel right. WHEW, I HOPE THAT WAS SUBTLE ENOUGH.

I am fantastically bad at the first Megaman game, but I am also improving. XD I have managed a few fantastic deaths! Especially in Gutsman's level and in Iceman's.

Some day, I am going to write up a huge boring entry about why FFIX is the one that I think touched me more than any other. I played through the end the other night, and I really do love it. Like, almost every character. Even that irritating gnome Eiko is ...well, is okay.

Oh! Because I seem to be SUCKING at my job at Sobeys, I'm probably going to have to actually take my meds before I go in to work. Which sucks, because although they do help me focus / remember stuff it still kind of freaks me out that I even need them. I kinda wonder if I would have done better in high school and in my first year of university if I hadn't been irrationally resistant to the idea of my having AD(H)D. Lalala. Yeah, but I keep on forgetting what I'm wrapping, so I have to ask and I'm sure that the more experienced people are sick of that and I will take steps to correct it.

Ah, you remember how I said I had a clear image of what a personification of my brain looked like? I realized later that it was actually pretty much one of [livejournal.com profile] zarla's characters- Dr. Dowasure. I'm a little bit unsettled that I chose him without realizing it, because the Doc is a total wuss, forgetful as anything (guilty) and more than a little bit messed up. AND WHILE I MAY BE FORGETFUL, I am neither of the other things. Well. Maybe I'm a little bit of a wuss. Aheh...

Oh! Going back to Sobeys, I'm pretty sure that Bizarrely-Nice-Guy thinks I dislike him. How do you explain, 'I JUST HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO RESPOND TO YOU' to someone? But he asked me if I had anything I wanted to say to him off the record with no repercussions and I just kind of went, '...no? :B' Nicely done, self.

I had more to write about, but it's long gone. :V

It's always interesting to try to fit yourself to a character or theme. And when other people do it for you, you find out that they see you a lot differently then you think. Take for instance a few friends of mine - they were trying to fit each other to songs by the British rock band Muse. They all agreed that I was Map of the Problmatique (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/muse/mapoftheproblematique.html), which was a bit of a shock to me.

Can't offer advice on how to react to people talking to you a work. Everywhere I've worked, I just sort of smile politely and nod, since I am terrible at talking to strangers.

[identity profile] eibborn.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'd be a little worried if people decided on a song like that for me! It's so unhappy! D:

XD That's pretty much exactly what I do! And the more awkward I feel, the more polite and quiet I get. Which I guess makes me distant, and makes people think I don't like them!

[identity profile] a-bomb37.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
...Why not just ask if bringing your game would be okay? Seems simple enough to me.

Also,

Just say to him, "Dude. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO RESPOND TO YOU" Maybe don't shout.

Occam's Razor bitch.

[identity profile] eibborn.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Blast you for pointing out the obvious! D: I was hoping no one would bring that up and I could continue acting as though the idea hadn't occurred to me because I'm pretty sure that my boss would say no. But for the wrong reasons!

...D: But that leads to the inevitable question of 'why?' And I don't really have an answer for that, anyway!

Because they're relevant, and sum up my opnion on a certain part of MM1 nicely.

OH GOD YES! XD I KEPT ON FALLING IN THE SAME PLACE OVER AND OVER AND OVER. It was actually hilarious. My frustration is apparently entertaining! XD

"OH MY GOD IT JUST BENT AND DROPPED ME THROUGH THAT HOLE. THAT WAS SO UNEXPECTED! D:" -after the same thing happened like 50 times previously.

*too lazy to log out!*

[identity profile] seventh-gospel.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I never got to finish MM1 myself because of Gutsman's level XD;; So I just played Cutman's over and over. (*is a big Cutman fan* XD )

Haha, really? I did it! XD It took about 10398619356293 tries, but I finally did make it! I am having way more trouble with Iceman's, actually! Ice levels are my bane almost as much as water levels. D:

[identity profile] seventh-gospel.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Omg yes ice levels D: That's why I'm glad when games give you forms or upgrades that keep you from sliding around XD;; (Can't remember about the Classic games, but I know both BN and ZX do, as far as Megaman goes xD Maybe X too, can't remember)

Oh! Unrelated, but oh well haha. Bass finally swallowed his massive pride and is asking the community for help (http://community.livejournal.com/dramadramaduck/1948844.html) on the virus XDXD

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, just saw it! I just had Mewtwo post requesting transport to Grey's world, too.

[identity profile] seventh-gospel.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
I saw~ And I giggle, because I have a mental image of a random Rattata appearing on the transporter and looking around confusedly, before scampering off and disappearing into the wilderness XDXD

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
XD Yes, pretty much! I was thinking that after it took off, it might actually stay near the camp, and, well... does Grey want a Poke-friend? If so, what kind?

[identity profile] seventh-gospel.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, Grey gets a peeeet~ XDXD *snickers* I could actually see that happening too, depending on the Pokemon. Hmm, Mewtwo only knows the first 150 right? Meowth maybe? XD

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
It's yours! Well... Grey's. :B Hopefully we'll be able to start the RL tomorrow!

[identity profile] seventh-gospel.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully yes~ <3

...XDXDXD I must draw Grey with a Meowth now. *snickers*

Okay, Rob, I know you like video games and all that, but seriously. I've seen you playing games. You kind of have trouble with the fact that the rest of the world exists when you're playing them. Not to mention that I don't think your customers are going to want to wait for you to pause the game.

Besides that, in many people's minds, there is an invisable line drawn between books/Sudoku/magazines and TV/video games. So it may not be as socially acceptable as alternate options, particularly in the mind of older customers.

That's just my opinion of course. Man, I wish I could read at work. It's soooooo boring.

Oh, and my opinion of the Bizarrely Nice Guy? Just tell him, next time he asks something like that: you`re sorry if you`ve offended him in any way and you haven`t meant anything of the sort. You simply tend to be tired from your other job by the time you get to work at Sobey`s. Then ask him to let you know if you`re doing anything in particular that`s upsetting, as sometimes you are distracted/tired/whathaveyou and may not realize it but do not want to cause offense.

Love,
Jen

[identity profile] eibborn.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
That wouldn't happen at work, though! I'm typically the same way with reading, though, but that hasn't gotten me into trouble yet. I'm actually reasonably attentive! And some games don't need to be paused. I wouldn't play MarioKart or Starfox, but Pokemon is turn-based- I can just leave it as it is! Can you tell I've had this argument with myself already? :B

The social stigma, however, is a very good point and the reason I will probably not be allowed to do it.

That's another good idea. I'm pretty sure that I'm not doing anything particularly upsetting, though, aside from being extremely polite and quiet. If he asks again, I'll use that explanation. :>

[identity profile] couldbesunshine.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I do the whole 'being quiet is polite' thing, too. It usually makes people think I'm really shy, but sometimes people assume I dislike them, particularly if they don't see me behave this way around anyone else. Boy are they in for a shock...

So I've had similar experiences. Anyways, give it a try, just so that there's no misunderstanding.

It must be a genetic habit.

[identity profile] arcalane.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose always did call Raiden at the most inopportune moments to discuss their relationship, assuming she was even real and not just a figment of Raiden's abused and humiliated imagination, so yeah I'd say if the player's doing that, then they're playing her right. :o

[identity profile] eibborn.livejournal.com 2008-08-01 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, for sure! It's the character as a whole that I hate, not the person's rendition of the character. It's like... if someone applied as Relena Peacecraft from Gundam Wing. It would be good for me to hate their character, because there cannot be a Relena who I don't think is an idiot.

I'm actually looking forward to reading Rose's posts!

[identity profile] a-bomb37.livejournal.com 2008-08-01 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
She's real. Play 4.
